Certainly, who writes this article present several points in which I
do not agree:
"3.3. Don't call people bitches", "3.1. Don't tell sexist jokes"...
Those points seem to me subjective, too many feminine maybe ;), and
obtain the opposite effect.
But....Your summary "Men are the problem" is very radical, and
excludes an interesting point: "3.15. Don't criticize too much", this
is the base to give confidence to a novice.
I have had experience dictating classes of AIX, HPUX and Linux, and my
students, (men and women), always responded better to my explanations
"of low profile": more explanations less critics, that those where,
intention, I show a high profile, watching at the rest of mortal poor
men who NEVER had compiled kernel...Jesusl!! ;)

You are in the dark side...

Completely in discord with you, the women who I know, and myself,
looked for that our machines are efficient in which is that do, we did
not wait for a pink interface with "hello kitty" or the superpowerful
girls :p .....but sure, who no enjoy watching the skin tux of amsn :)
and the splash of Ubuntu in startup / shutdown ?
Still more, like administrators, prefer run level 3 in my servers :)
Resume: To transmit knowledge and to encourage the use of certain
technology are not a easy work, for that reason it is good idea to
optimize it, and take advices....

Is not so terrible the article, since it allows us to debate these ideas, right?
