Lines during fast movement in DVD playback

You're probably experiencing what is known as “Interlacing”. Not all
media files have that. In a matter of fact, only material targeting TV
sets have those. To fix it in Totem, press “i” while the movie is
playing or from the “View” menu choose “Deinterlace”. Remember to
disable it when playing normal non-Interlaced media.
