Doing more research I found that both of the cards in question are prism 
based. I've installed the Linux--wlan-ng package.  I've discovered that 
the cards are not recognized by the hot plug package.  In contrast my 
PCMCIA ethernet card is recognized and the module is automatically 
installed.

Ideas?
