Hi,

I was wondering if there are any plans to implement the bootsplash 
patches in Ubuntu?

 From what i have used of Ubuntu so far this is one remaining area that 
this lacks polish (compared to the other distros) and stares you in face 
everytime you boot the PC. All the other distros seem to have spent a 
lot of time in doing this (especially Suse/Novell which even has a 
shutdown logo as well) but most of these distros don't seem to have 
spent as much time on creating a well designed default desktop.

Unlike other distros however it is good to see that someone finally took 
the time to fixup the basic design of the default Xscreensaver password 
prompt. Hats off to the developers for this, hope the same is done for 
the boot process at some point as well.
