[OT] Data Recovery

Could anyone please recommend some tools to use for data recovery
purposes under Linux. I've managed to use Linux numerous times to
mount Windows hard drives and recover date, simply because when there
are problems with HDDs windows just fails to install them or give
access to them.

I'm looking for tools that I can use under one of my Ubuntu boxes. I
use this box primarily to recover data of bad HDDs. I'm hoping someone
can share some experiences or tools they used in this environment to
do just that.
