K3b problems...

Lee,

I was looking at this file:
/etc/udev/permissions.d/udev.permissions

and would the following line imply that you
need to be in the disk group to read and write
to the disk you are talking about sg0?

s[gr][0-9]*:root:disk:0660

You could then try adding your user to the
disk group to see if that fixed the problem.
