A Favor Please

Hi all,
would like to ask a favour from someone in the know :-)
I am making up some help files to write to CD, and wonder if
someone could check to see if I have written things correctly.
Being relatively ignorant, don't want to pass my misconceptions on
any further.
Could some one have a look at

and let me know if there is anything that needs correcting, or explained 
better.

Another favour, Just what commands/applications are needed to read mail
from command line?
Many thanks in advance, am learning slowly, when I had plenty of time, was
in a hurry, time not unlimited now, but no longer in a hurry.
