Kexi/Kubuntu 5.04 --> relocation error: /usr/lib/libkeximain.so.0

(I posted this to the KOffice and Kubuntu Users lists previously, with
out success.)
I'm running Kubuntu 5.04 (upgraded from Ubuntu 5.04 install) with
KOffice installed from universe. When I try to run Kexi from the
desktop, I get the open/new file dialog, but the program dumps as
soon as I try to create a new database. I made the mistake of
checking off that I don't want to see the dialog anymore, so now the
cursor spins for a time on startup, then quits. Starting up Kexi from
a term window shows:
pmbuc at pmbent1:~$ kexi
kexi: relocation error: /usr/lib/libkeximain.so.0: undefined symbol:
_ZN13KDockSplitter24setSeparatorPosInPercentEi
In my Googling, I have seen some posts on other forums that there may
be a problem with mislocation of files due to changes in KDE 3.4, but
no solution was apparent. I had this working right-out-of-the-box
under Debian Sid, which was running KDE 3.4, as well.
The developer doesn't seem to offer much support off of his site, the
KOffice list appears to be primarily for developers, not end-users,
and the Kubuntu Users list seems to be sparsely populated. Any help
on this? Pointers to solutions?
Thanks in advance,
Paul
