This there any way to configure Ubuntu/Gnome to provide visual alerts for things like incoming mail, calendar alarms, etc. The only program I've even tested so far that was able to provide one was Balsa. Others, like Thunderbird, have the ability to do so but they don't get displayed. Am I missing something? Thanks, Ben
