Battery doesn't work after Hoary upgrade

Hello again,
I successfully recompiled the kernel with the relevant modules (as far
as I could tell), the machine boots fine, but the battery doesn't work
still.
The machine seems to recognize that a battery is plugged in however,
but power from it doesn't come through. Any other ideas on what the
error messages might refer to would be greatly appreciated. The full
dmesg output is here: http://threespeed.org/~ibm/dmesg.txt
