authconfig-gtk is a GUI tool from Red Hat that's present in Fedora Core
3. I also think that CentOS figured it out.

It's not widely known. A recent patch makes it work with Active
Directory. 

It would be nice to have a similar product that would run on all
distributions and even help configure Linux to work in a home network
easily.
