I searched for "cron" in Synaptic. Apparently I have anacron installed.
I also have cron too, probably a residue from the Wart upgrade. maybe
there is some interference between anacron and cron, that keeps the
update-notifier from being run ?
Looking at the 'top' command, at first sight, cron is running, but not
Hmmm... somehow I knew I should have installed Hoary from scratch with
an install CD, instead of upgrading Warty, lazy me.... :-/
That will teach me I guess... when Breezy is released, I won't upgrade,
but rather, just stick the install CD in the bloody machine...
