Hi René,

Try Beagle! It can be found at http://beaglewiki.org/Main_Page, with
special Ubuntu install instructions here:
http://beaglewiki.org/index.php/UbuntuInstall.

It's still in Beta (version 0.0.10) but it does wat it has to do,
similar to Copernic on Windows. It searches e-mail, logs and files.
