Hi, while this is might not be in your case, I still want to share my 
litle bad experience with firestarter. I am using dial-up, same prob 
happen. But the traceroute is fine. Apparantly the cause is because I 
fill the IP of gateway (my LAN). When I erase them everything is ok.
While this might not help, I hope someone might use this info.
