Extremely slow CD ripping speed

That will probably make a difference.  My CD-RW drive (Sony advertised
as 52X) rips at 3.7x without DMA being set and that increased to 6.5x
when I set it to use UDMA2.  I also checked my DVD-ROM drive but it was
only ripped a CD at 3.0x with DMA enabled.

I haven't checked, but suspect that using DMA will improve the write
speed, as well.
