(Update) kcore file 1GB HD space (need help) !!

Yes.  They are, in fact, a symbolic link (or symlink for short) to

zamb ~ $ /bin/ls -l -h /dev/core /.dev/core /proc/kcore
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   11 2005-04-02 17:06 /.dev/core -> /proc/kcore
lrwxrwxrwx  1 root root   11 2005-05-28 21:44 /dev/core -> /proc/kcore
-r--------  1 root root 512M 2005-06-01 06:19 /proc/kcore
zamb ~ $

So all the above files don't consume any bytes of my hard drive, they
are all virtual and reside in the memory.

(My system has 512MiB of RAM which is the size of “/proc/kcore”.)
