Little help in making icons

hello,

to those who are into E17, I am making E17 icons (eap) from free to use 
icons that were built for mac and win which I will later forward to 
sites that distributes E17 icons and themes.  Is there a list of apps 
installed by default for both ubuntu and kubuntu so i can create eaps 
for them?   also what other apps do most of us use here that we add 
ourselves (mplayer, gftp, eclipse)?
