Shutdown/Suspend on low battery

Just apt-get install sleepd (from the Hoary Universe)

then open up /etc/default/sleepd

and change the following line:

PARAMS=""

to

PARAMS='-U 0 -s "/etc/acpi/hibernate.sh" -b 5'





Run man sleepd to figure out what those options do, and adjust as
needed.
