eh? Guilty as charged. Lynch me!
Uninstalling firefox 1.0.4 fixed the problem before your suggestion,
thank you and please remember not to attack people seeking help simply
because they just don't know better.
Unofficial sources can lead to problems indeed, but there's no way
around backports, most 'attractive' packages like multimedia and
plugins are only available that way and are must for newbies/Windows
users like myself switching to Ubuntu.
Don't attack, educate :)
