kiax: not working anymore (Error message:cannot initialize iaxclient!)

Hello,
I've installed kiax and all the dependencies it was needing, including 
iaxclient. In the past, i was able to make kiax work fine. I would just type 
kiax in the command line.

But today, I tried running kiax and I get this error message:


jeff at ubuntu:~$ kiax
 Mon Jul 25 14:02:12 2005 Using IAXClient ver. CVS-2005/04/14-16:33
Mon Jul 25 14:02:12 2005 IaxWrapper::iaxc_initialize() result = -1
Error message:cannot initialize iaxclient!

Exitting application. Possible reason: Device initialization failed.


 In the past, I have gotten this error message. But I was able to get kiax 
to work by closing skype. Once skype was closed down, I could run kiax. but 
today, i have no skype running, yet I still get this message.

If you could help me, I'd appreciate it! If there's any more information 
that you need to assist, I'd be happy to tell you whatever information is 
necessary to fix this problem.
