hoary has no sound

I used the alsa-sources fix to get the snd_azx module installed for my
Intel HD internal  audio card on my Sony VAIO VGN-S460.

If I try to fire off alsamixer is get

And if I try to open my volume control I get

I managed to get my /dev/dsp to show up by typing

> /usr/share/alsa-base/snddevices

> 

I did hear music out of my speakers just before I wiped windows off
this laptop.



Can anyone think of something I missed?
