The life-vest seemed to me quite a useless gadget on the Panel (because
the info it has on most apps is quite superficial and doesn't answer
not-so-newbie questions) until I began wondering if there was a common
location for finding documentation like 'Dive into Python', 'Grokking
the GIMP', etc, which aren't exactly user manuals but more in-depth
docs.

I see 'Dive into Python' is in there, but not 'Grokking the GIMP'.

-'Grokking...' is installable as a package from the repos. So why
doesn't Synaptic (or the install manager) create links to it inside the
life-vest?

Can there be a way by which the user may add documentation to this
life-vest, creating a personal library of tutorials (like other free
stuff one might find on Python, or the Gimp, or OpenOffice, etc ?
