It looks like you're using the device-mapper, which is a way
to construct more-sophisticated filesystems out of ordinary
devices. For instance, you could use the device-mapper to
create an encrypted filesystem. In any case, it doesn't look
like you're using an ext3 filesystem directly; you've got
something between you and the raw ext3 device.
As a start toward figuring this out, can you send us the
contents of your /etc/fstab file?
