changing default application associated with each file extension

Hi Jeff, I have the same problem too, I prefer Galeon to Firefox...

Solution : Open Nautilus, find any HTML files. Righ-click on it, and
select "Properties". Then click on the "Open With..." tab.
It should give you a list off all the program that are allowed/capable
of reading HTML files. Select Galeon, click "OK", and you are done ! :o)
The change takes effect immediately, you don't even need to restart
Nautilus.
