[Breezy] Current status on USB hotplug ?

Some time ago I filed this bug :

About issues when plugging a USB card reader.

It creates icons for every slots of the card reader (4 of them) even
though they are empty. And when I insert a memory car in one of them,
Gnome refuses to mount it.

The situation hasn't improved the slightest bit since filing the bug, so
I am wondering...is it just me again ?? If it still affects everyone,
then could someone in the know shed some light on the problem, what is
upstream doing about it, when can we expect things to improve ?

There has been no activity on my bug, not even "confirmed" or anything,
not even assigned to a particular package. So I am rather in the dark.

All device nodes are created properly, for the empty slots, and also the
partitions, so I guess the kernel is not at fault, and it looks like a
problem with the Gnome bits that's in charge of auto-mounting the
partitions. Is that 'pmount' ? Is upstream working on this problem ?
