Backup program?

What are the errors you're getting?  With many KDE apps, you just need to (and 
this is the hard but good way):

1. run dh_make to generate debian package building stuff.
2. edit debian/rules so that the configure command species 
--with-qt-includes=/usr/include/qt3 as an option.
3. run dpkg-buildpackage to actually make the package
4. install the package

I'm guessing you missed step 2, but I could be wrong of course.
