Preventing Firefox searches

This never happened to me!  But try this solution:

Type "about:config" in the address text-bar and hit Enter.  Type
"accessibility.typeaheadfind.autostart" in the "Filter" text-bar and
wait for a second or so.  You should find the first item to be
"accessibility.typeaheadfind.autostart".  Change it's value to false
(double clicking on it will cycle through it's values).
