Use Ubuntu on a laptop

Hello,

I also have the Gericom 1st Supersonic KN-1, and everything works fine
except for sound: Ubuntu does not recognize my sound card :(

The thing is, even Windows XP required special drivers for the sound
card before I could hear ANY sound.

The sound card/audio system is listed as follows: Built-in AC'97 and
High Definition Audio, 5.1/7.1CH

I am not sure what information could help you to help me, so just tell
me what you need to know!

Regarding the Ethernet Device (Network Card), Ubuntu is superior to
Windows: Ubuntu recognized it out of the box, while Windows needed a
driver to run it :)
