Hi. You didn't give the specific model/chipset of the device.
I recently setup a Linksys USB wireless device (WUSB11 v2.8)
and the at76c503a driver worked for me. You can see a list of
supported devices here:

Another possibility is the ndiswrapper. Though I would prefer to 
use an open source native linux driver if at all possible.

Anyways, I think we'll need a bit more specific details about
the device to help.
