Java wont install

the simplest way to install java is this.
go to www.java.com <http://www.java.com>.
go to manaual download page.
download the self extracting archive.(not the rpm)
open the instructions page.
follow the instructions.

ps. this work for me toi get azureus working but i still can't get firefox 
to use java
