Java wont install

For java:
* Download jdk-linux-something.bin from java.sun.com (note, do NOT
download the ......rpm.bin)
* Enable the multiverse repository (see
http://wiki.ubuntu.com/AddingRepositoriesHowto for info and
http://paste.ubuntulinux.nl/38 for a complete list of official Ubuntu
sources
* in the shell, you now type the following commands:
aptitude update
aptitude install fakeroot java-package
chmod +x j2sdk-something.bin
fakeroot make-jpkg j2sdk-something.bin
dpkg -i sun-jdk-something.deb
(the 'something' here differs sometimes, so check the filename :))
