Is Ubuntu safe to try

but so far ubuntu has never failed to impress me.  true is breaks but
not because it is unstable but because i experiment a lot and mix
distros.   I cant help it, i am a tech freak. but under normal 
operations ubuntu is easy to use and maintain.  Add to that is a healthy
community that is always there to help you - even personal problems
since some of us here are psychiatrist - some are even yoga experts who
opened my mind to g****e.cx position. 

To fix cross over menu
1. sudo apt-get install menu menu-xdg
2. update-menus
3. if no menu still, restart gnome session
