video resolution problem

While I do not use ATI (although I have 3 of their cards) on Linux, It
should be possible to resetup the driver if something has happened to
it.
A quick search in synaptic didn't turn anything up for ATI directly
(other than XFree drivers which aren't used by core Ubuntu), but a
quick search at ATI showed that your 128 is supported:
https://support.ati.com/ics/support/default.asp?deptID=894&task=knowledge&folderID=27
via the DRI driver set (http://dri.freedesktop.org/wiki/), so then I
searched for DRI under synaptic and found following packages:
xlibmesa-dri, and xorg-driver-fglrx. If you reinstall these drivers, I
have a feeling it will fix your vid problems.
Good luck, and let us know how it goes.
