Do you really want it to not quote text from an email you're replying
to? Especially with mailing lists (but in general as well), not having
some quoted material makes it fairly hard to follow discussions.

Of course quoting everything, and not trimming where appropriate isn't
great either, but at least you can see how parts of a conversation fit
together.
