There is a difference between parents using a filter as *one* tool at
home and, say, a library or ISP doing so. With the configurability of DG
and possibly other free software apps, parents have the ability to set
this up as they choose. I think Ubuntu should stay out of this business
and leave the default configs to the DG community.

The over-protective filter is a common problem; why don't the
anti-filtering advocates now clamor for common sense and education when
this occurs? Daddy, this site was blocked but I think it's OK. Can you
check on it for me? Since I know how I raise my kids, I think that will
work at home. Again, I'm not talking about ISP's or libraries or
schools, where a student wanting to research "personal" issues might
have several sites blocked and be too shy/afraid/embarassed to ask an
adult for help.

Cheers,
Todd
