Glom database front-end

Someone suggested this as an easy high level design tool to develop 
basic database applications / database front-ends.  It will be part of 
the next Ubuntu release, which is good news! ( http://www.glom.org , 
thanks for the suggestion!!)

It is however Linux-only and not cross-platform it seems.. That would 
make it difficult to implement for customers who use Windows on most of 
their office computers.

Does anyone know of something that's similar in ease of use, but also 
runs cross-platform?  (Something Java based perhaps).  I know of Servoy 
which is not free. (Not cheap either at 279 US$ per concurrent user).
