Charset Encodings in Gnome

Hi,

I brought a CD with jpegs burned with windows to my ubuntu machine.

Where it should be "3 gerações.jpg" for a file name, nautilus shows "3
gera‡?es.jpg". But the worst is that neither gthumb nor eog open the
image. So it seems to be something with file encodings.

The only way to open the image was to copy it to disk and change its
name.

Is this a bug?

cheers, jcp
