auto umount?!?

There is a kernel patch called supermount. Mandrake uses it with some success.

Works just like Windows. Put a CD-ROM in, it mounts it. Hit the eject button, 
it unmounts it and the CD-ROM is ejected.

As I recall it conflicts with some programs that expect the mounting and 
unmounting to be done "in the old fashioned" Linux way.

You have to modify your /etc/fstab so it will work.
