We can barely afford space on the CD for three kernels (powerpc, power3,
power4) let alone six (powerpc, powerpc-smp, power3, power3-smp, power4,
power4-smp). The CD install is restricted to kernels known to work, not
optimal kernels.

therm_pm72 is compiled into the kernel rather than being a separate
module. As I remember the version in Warty didn't support some newer G5
models, though; Hoary's kernel should fix this.
