Cannot install ubuntu on Dell machine

Just this morning, I noticed this issue mentioned on a blog on Planet
Ubuntu. It's still the first item on the site, as I'm writing this:

I don't have this issue, so I'm not sure what he's talking about, but
it sounds like you need to add an option in a couple of files. Hope
