  Picking up Ubuntu as KDE distro is not a best move. Ubuntu has a 
polished Gnome desktop and it's loaded with tons of useful software for 
users and developers (PythonGTK).

  Still, you can install KDE from the Universe. Or, you can just wait 
for a Kubuntu final release: http://ubuntulinux.org/wiki/kubuntu -- 
Kubuntu will be a KDE based distro, with backbone of Ubuntu. It will 
have a friendly community that follows the Code Of Conduct. :-) All the 
Ubuntu features, now with KDE.
