have done, installed it when I installed cups, no support in gimp for
dot matrix printers. I only print text anyway, the unofficial ubuntu
starter guide, and hints picked up off the list, and any usefull
documentation I findjust getting tired of converting to text files and
saving to Windows, rebooting to Windows to print.

The driver I am using is listed at www.linuxprinting.org , been there,
says it works very well, only not for me.
Have had system admins try to get it working, no one can, just don't
understand why it won't, was a very popular/common printer, with driver
listed in all distro's I have tried.
Thanks anyway, looks like I won't be able to leave Windows after all,
prints fine from there, am on pension, can't afford a new printer, or
the cartridges for same.
Have some new plotter pen cartridges and accessories if anyone living
close (Adelaide South Australia) would like them free. Let me know off
list.
Take Care
