I just tried mutt. It's a dog!
I took a look at compiling pico myself on Ubuntu and did a 180 -- it
ain't for the faint of heart with dependencies (the i86 version
probably works but there's no PPC Linux version... unless the Mac OS X
binary also works under Ubuntu?... doubtful, though I'll give it a
whirl).
