File type alert messages in gnome

There is no option to stop this.
One solution is to change the filename, correcting the extension
(change from mariobros.wmv to mariobros.asf). So, it won't bug you
again.
You can also right-click the file, select "Open with..." and run it
with 'xine' or 'totem'. Then, right-clicking the file again, you
should see 'Open with xine' or 'Open with totem' (this option doesn't
check the file type).
There was some discussion about this topic some time ago and I can't
recall if there was any other options. :)
