Getting the CD to boot

Yes, you need to make sure you are buring it as an ISO image, rather than
just plain data. If you are
using Nero, there are instructions at
http://linuxiso.org/viewdoc.php/neroburning.html. Otherwise
look in your product's help section on how to burn iso images.
