José and Cef, thanks for the informative replies.
I suspected as much but I wanted to be sure.

Does linux-resticted-modules ever get updated to the newest nvidia
driver (under warty I have 6111, on the nvidia website 6629 is
available). Or do we have to wait till hoary?
