Flight Gear

I installed Flight Gear (in Universe).

I read on their site that it comes with 30 different planes, and one
helicopter. But when I start it, it defaults to the usual little Cessna
(like in MSFS) and I can't see anything in the menu that would let me
select a different aircraft. 

Am I missing something ? How to get more planes, or helicopters
actually, as that more what I am interested in. ?

Are all these aircrafts in a separate package maybe ? Why didn't Ubuntu
add extra aircraft ?? :-/

Also, the game keeps crashing (disappears from the desktop... ) usually
after only a few minutes playing the game, with a "seg fault". Does
anyone else experience the same ? :-/

And has anyone tried X-plane on Ubuntu ? They have just started
releasing Linux versions now. The demo is over 300MB so I can't download
it (don't have boradband, and th edownload keeps crashing after 30MB or
so only :-/ ) to try it for myself.
