audio doesn't work

We first need to figure out what type of audio you have. Type
typing 'lspci' at the command prompt and see if your audio card is
listed. Look in your manual, see if it is mentioned there. You might
also be able to find references to it in the BIOS settings. What type
of chipset is it?
Once we know the chipset, we can start getting things put together
so it will start working.
