Hm,
did you maybee do your updates according to ubuntuguide.org? You might
want to uncomment just the 2nd and 3rd line of source.list before next
update.
What you want to do is a little research either in Device Manager or in
Configuration Editor. The solution is usualy very simple as long as the
device worked before.
