init.d and alsa

i am running ubuntu warty with a custom kernel 2.6.10, recently (dont 
know how) alsa cant restore values at boot
alsactl: load_state:1134 cannot find soundcard

when i boot i can unmute the mixer and sound works greatly

i think alsa script is running too early, but this is the ubuntu config

ls rc?.d/S20alsa
rc2.d/S20alsa  rc3.d/S20alsa  rc4.d/S20alsa  rc5.d/S20alsa

ls rc?.d/S40hotplug
rcS.d/S40hotplug

seem modules are loaded before running alsascript... what you suggest?
